Show-Me Brewing LLC
With experience working at Brew Lab in Kansas City, Andy Pearsall opened homebrew supply store Show-Me Brewing LLC with business partners John Pearsall, his father, and Julie Cogell. Beginning April 26, Show-Me Brewing leased 2,400 square feet at 1925 E. Bennett St., Ste. A, from Plaza Towers LLC. Lease terms and startup costs were not disclosed. Andy Pearsall said in addition to supplies and ingredients for making beer and wine, Show-Me Brewing also rents the use of in-store equipment for customers to brew 10-gallon batches – roughly 100 bottles of beer. The company keeps the brew in a temperature-controlled room for about two weeks to ferment before scheduling a time for bottling. Pearsall said in-store equipment rental costs $125 per run, plus $45-$50 for ingredients. Show-Me Brewing also has a city liquor license and sells craft beers by the glass for $4-$5. Hours: 10 a.m.– 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m.–7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Sunday. Phone: (417) 315-8617. Web: ShowMeBrewing.com

Black Sheep at Chesterfield Village LLC
Six months after creating Black Sheep Burgers and Shakes downtown, the Jalili family of restaurateurs added a second, opening May 16 at 2160 W. Chesterfield Blvd. Co-owner Mike Jalili said with Black Sheep’s early success, the owners began looking to the south side. “When we were still busy in January, we thought, ‘Maybe we do know how to make burgers and have something good here,’” said Jalili, who owns Black Sheep, Flame and Touch with his brother Billy and his wife Sara. Organized as Black Sheep at Chesterfield Village LLC, Mike Jalili said the company leases 3,700 square feet in Chesterfield Village from Larry Lipscomb for undisclosed terms. A larger kitchen adds fried chicken sandwiches and chicken wings to the menu of gourmet burgers, hot dogs, salads, appetizers and shakes, including alcoholic varieties made with Andy’s Frozen Custard. Jalili said an undisclosed family-owned company from New York grinds, blends and supplies Black Sheep’s beef. The restaurant employs over 80 and seats 200, including up to 50 on an outdoor patio. Hours: 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday. Phone: (417) 368-0227. Web: BlaaackSheep.com
