Glenda Head
joined ADsmith Marketing and Advertising as executive assistant. With administrative experience in the legal and medical fields, she holds a bachelor’s in psychology from University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Banking and Finance
Central Bank of the Ozarks hired Brandon Behrens, Kara Turner, Michael Weeks and Donna Wendt. Behrens, who has 15 years of banking experience, was named vice president and commercial loan officer. Turner and Weeks joined as business development specialists. Turner has 15 years of executive sales experience, and Weeks has five years of financial industry experience. With 15 years of financial experience, Wendt was named a retail officer and banking center manager for the South Glenstone branch.

Ashlee Oldham was named e-services manager at CU Community Credit Union to oversee a new call center. Oldham previously worked for Assemblies of God Credit Union as vice president of branch operations.

Bear State Bank promoted Rick Windes to area president, a newly created position in the bank’s organizational restructuring. He manages banking operations for eight communities in north central and northeast Arkansas and southwest Missouri. A 23-year banker, Windes served as regional president for Metropolitan National Bank before Bear State’s acquisition.

Kimberly Young joined CU Community Credit Union as accounting manager. She holds a master’s in accounting from Missouri State University and has 10 years of accounting experience.

Greg DeLong, a vice president and financial adviser at Morgan Stanley’s wealth management office in Springfield, earned the firm’s family wealth adviser designation after completing an accreditation program. He has 30 years of financial industry experience.

Education
Tammy Condren
, assistant professor of graduate education and coordinator of the doctorate in educational leadership program at Southwest Baptist University, received the Outstanding Service Award from the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals. She is one of 10 selected to receive the award since 1994 based on contributions to Missouri students and elementary and middle-level principals.

SBU named Levi Bridge, an instructor of business administration, as director of the Master of Business Administration program, effective June 1. He’s worked at SBU in admissions and financial aid since 2009, after earning a bachelor’s in marketing and an MBA from the school.

Deborah Piland, assistant professor of dietetics at College of the Ozarks, received the school’s Veteran Faculty Member of Five-Fold Mission Award. Chosen by students and co-workers, recipients must have worked seven years at the college and embody its academic, vocational, Christian, patriotic and cultural goals.

The Society of Health and Physical Educators honored Miranda Britain, a College of the Ozarks senior, as a Major of the Year during the organization’s national convention in Minnesota. Nominated by a faculty adviser or professor, the students are recognized in the health, physical education, recreation and dance professions.

Government
Springfield-Greene County 911 Emergency Communications Director Zim Schwartze was named Missouri 911 Director of the Year at the Missouri Public Safety Communications Conference. She joined Springfield-Greene County 911 in 2013 after retiring as a captain from the Columbia Police Department. Schwartze is a member of three state 911 groups and serves as treasurer of the Missouri 911 Directors Association.

Health Care
Citizens Memorial Hospital
was selected to receive the Healthgrades 2016 Patient Safety Excellence Award, which recognizes prevention of serious and potentially avoidable complications during hospital stays. The honor places CMH in Healthgrades’ top 10 percent of hospitals evaluated nationwide.

National eye bank Saving Sight honored the staff at Cox Medical Center South with the Excellence in Eye Donation Award. Given to less than 15 percent of Saving Sight’s partner hospitals, the award recognized Cox South’s efforts to facilitate 150 eye donation cases in 2015.

Four CoxHealth nurses received Daisy Awards recognizing their patient service based on nominations for the honor: Erin Steele of the Cox North Emergency Department; Shandra Goldsmith and Thresa Cowan of Cox South; and Mary Fox of the Meyer Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital.

Family Pharmacy Inc. promoted Tim Stallion to chief financial officer. He joined the company’s accounting department in 2013 with over 20 years of experience as a controller and CFO.

Insurance
Devra Gower
rejoined Connell Insurance Inc. as a team leader of its employee-benefits group. She is responsible for recruiting and training new benefits producers. Gower previously worked with Connell as a group benefits producer and recently had stints with Coventry Health Care and Aetna.

Nonprofit
Missouri Veterans Commission appointed Hugh Myers as director for the State Veterans Cemetery in Springfield. He has 30 years of experience in the funeral and cemetery business.

Morey Mechlin, former executive director of Care to Learn, joined the Care to Learn board of directors. She led the organization from 2009 until her retirement in October.

Ozark Chamber of Commerce hired Doug Schlottman as manager of membership and small-business development. With eight years of experience as a small-business owner as well as management and marketing roles, Schlottman is tasked with fostering membership involvement and growth for the chamber’s small-business incubator.

Belinda Lyon of the Ozark Region Missouri Job Center received the Reentry Advocate of the Year Award at the annual Criminal Justice Conference. The award recognizes support for people with criminal backgrounds by an individual or group outside of the criminal justice profession.

Retail
Lew’s Fishing Tackle
won a Rising Star Award from the Missouri Small Business Technology & Development Centers. CEO Lynn Reeves approached the Missouri SBTDC for help, after a longtime position with Bass Pro Shops ended, wanting to use his industry knowledge and contacts to start a business. Since 2009, the company has grown to 39 employees and last year built a $5 million, 58,000-square-foot warehouse and headquarters.
