A member of the Ozark R-6 School District Board of Education resigned to spend more time on her career, she wrote in her resignation letter.

Angie Barnes joined the board in 2014 and was serving a term scheduled to expire in April 2017, according to the release. She’s worked the past year as institutional account manager for biopharmaceutical company Theravance Biopharma Inc. (Nasdaq: TBPH), according to her LinkedIn page.

“Working with Angie these past few years have been a rewarding experience for me,” Superintendent Kevin Patterson said in the release. “Angie’s decisions as a board member always focused on the well-being and the best education opportunities for our students.”

The board of education now will work to temporarily fill Barnes’ seat. The next school board election is in April.

Through Sept. 1, the board will accept applications for the position. Application information is available on the district’s website.
