Incredible Pizza to expand into former Party City

Posted online
Incredible Pizza Co. is investing over $1 million at its flagship Springfield store to expand into the former Party City and add new attractions.

Targeted for completion during the first week of December, the expansion project would move its go-kart track to the 10,000-square-foot former Party City. The party supply store, which leased space from Incredible Pizza on the north side of the building, moved to a newly constructed building at 2620 S. Campbell Ave.

Krysti Rice, Incredible Pizza’s director of community events and social media, said the company is adding an indoor trampoline park at the current site of its go-kart track, remodeling its laser tag arena and adding an attraction Frog Hopper, which would bounce seated riders up and down. The laser tag arena, which currently is space themed, would take on an Atlantis theme.

“We currently have an Atlantis theme in our San Antonio location and it seems to do pretty well,” Rice said. “Springfield was the first store - opened in 2002 - so we have a lot of pride for that store and we want to give a new feel to it.”

Rice said the arcade and restaurant areas should experience no disruptions during the expansion process, but the go-kart and laser tag areas would have delays.

With the Party City space, Incredible Pizza would expand to 52,000 square feet, she said.
