Tom Brady's big win sends ticket prices spiraling up

Posted online
Tom Brady said goodbye to suspension and the Patriots said hello to soaring ticket prices.

CNNMoney reports the median price for tickets already sold on StubHub for the team's season opener Sept. 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers is $386.87, but the median price of tickets still listed for sale jumped to $492.75 within an hour of the court decision.

A federal judge ruled Thursday morning Brady – quarterback for the New England team who was suspended for four games following what came to be know as Deflategate – was not treated fairly and could not be suspended for deflating footballs because he was not aware such misconduct could lead to the kind of punishment he received.

The price hike is most likely the combination of season ticket holders withdrawing their tickets from the market and a surge in buying among fans.
