Missouri State quarterback Breck Ruddick has been charged with animal abuse.
The suspended Bears quarterback was ticketed on Sept. 26 by Springfield Animal Control. Yesterday, Springfield Chief Municipal Prosecutor Carl Yendes announced charges had been filed.
Ruddick allegedly hit a friend's dog he was caring for, causing the loss of several of the animal's teeth and a broken jaw.
Bears football coach Dave Steckel announced earlier this month Ruddick was suspended for the rest of the year but would retain his scholarship and remain with the team.
