IBM acquires Chicago data storage company

IBM announced plans to acquire Cleversafe, a Chicago-based data storage vendor.

Terms were not disclosed for the deal, which is expected to up IBM's hybrid cloud storage capabilities.

Founded in 2004, Cleversafe owns 350 patents related to this technology. Its customers are known to store massive amounts of data.
