Empty hospital may become senior complex hub in Cass County

Posted online
A Harrisonville building that once housed the Cass Medical Center is getting a chance at rebirth after being vacant for seven years.

The Interstate Underground Warehouse development group purchased the empty hospital with plans to renovate it as the first of seven planned buildings making up a senior living complex with 350 living units.

The complex is expected to create 115 jobs with a median salary of $32,000.

Harrisonville is roughly 37 miles southeast of Kansas City.
