The Arc of the Ozarks
The Arc of the Ozarks on April 5 consolidated programs and services at four offices to 1721 W. Elfindale St., a 32,000-square-foot building renovated by general contractor Q & Co. LLC. Purchased for undisclosed terms from Davis Properties LLC, Director of Development Danielle Wise said the nonprofit’s Rivendale Institute of Learning & Center for Autism operates on the first floor, and the remainder of the three-story building houses The Arc’s services for employment, residential programming, community connections, behavior analysis and the autism department. It also serves as a training site for 1,400 staff members in Springfield, Monett, Joplin and Kansas City. With design work by Buxton Kubik Dodd Creative, the building renovations cost $1.6 million, according to a city permit. Vice President of Program Services Tim Dygon leads 90 employees at the new office. The Arc of the Ozarks continues to operate administrative offices at 1501 E. Pythian St., led by president and CEO Mike Powers.  Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 771-3700. Web: TheArcoftheOzarks.com

American Cancer Society Inc.
American Cancer Society Inc. moved its Springfield office Jan. 14 to 2926 E. Battlefield Road. Senior Market Manager Kim Edwards said the move from 8,000 square feet at 3322 S. Campbell Ave., Ste. G, provides better access and visibility, and the smaller space conserves resources for a greater percentage of funds toward programs and services. She said the 5,500-square-foot space is leased from Battlefield Office Building LLC for undisclosed terms. American Cancer Society provides guidance, support and resources for those diagnosed with cancer, including assistance with transportation and lodging, free wigs, referrals to health care and community resources and support groups. The office employs 15 and also operates resource centers at Mercy Hospital Springfield and Cox Medical Center Branson. Hours: 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 881-4668.
