Painting with a Twist franchisees Tom and Janine Swirsky opened a Springfield studio March 15 for the Mandeville, La.-based company at 3444 S. Campbell Ave., Ste. G. Tom Swirsky said the couple leases the 1,950-square-foot space from O’Reilly Investment Co. for undisclosed terms and estimated renovation costs at $60,000. The studio hosts classes where customers paint a pre-determined scene from the company’s gallery of 7,000 paintings. Two-hour classes are $35 and three-hour classes are $45. Kids’ classes are $25 per person. The studio has capacity for 50, and guests can bring snacks and drinks. With franchise fees of $25,000 and 6 percent royalties, franchisees sign an initial agreement term of seven years. The company operates 260 studios in 35 states. Southern Bank
Poplar Bluff-based Southern Missouri Bancorp Inc. (Nasdaq: SMBC) moved a Springfield branch office Nov. 23 to 4803 S. National Ave., Ste. 100, in the Gardner Capital Inc. building. Southern Bank Regional President Justin Cox said the company has a 10-year lease on the roughly 5,500-square-foot first floor of the building with property owner Gardner OB LLC for undisclosed terms. Cox said the new branch has a two-lane drive-thru with an interactive teller machine that allows customers to interact with a bank teller from their vehicles and perform additional services such as loan payments. The ITM is open extended hours and reverts to regular ATM functions after business hours. In the move from 4650 S. National Ave., Ste. C-4, the bank hired a loan officer and loan assistant. Southern Bank, which had $1.33 billion in assets and $1.2 billion in liabilities and capital as of Dec. 31, 2015, operates 35 branches in Missouri and Arkansas, with 11 in southwest Missouri. Hogan Land Title Co.
Hogan Land Title Co. consolidated offices April 4 at 3053 S. Fremont Ave., formerly operating as Best Escrow, into the company’s main title plant, 1605 E. Sunshine St. Marketing Director Emily Laurie said the March 1 retirement of South Fremont Avenue office manager Mary Henderson prompted the move. Escrow officer Anne Riley and processor Judi Cundiff, who have 25 years of combined experience with Hogan Land Title, moved to the company’s 14,000-square-foot headquarters. Laurie said the company leased the former 1,800-square-foot office, but declined to disclose the lessor or terms. The property owner is Ataractic Investment Co. LLC, according to Greene County Assessor records. Hogan Land Title Co.’s services include title insurance policies, escrow closings, title searches, 1031 tax exchanges and construction disbursements.
