Save-A-Lot president to exit company

Earth City-based Supervalu Inc. announced the president of its Save-a-Lot grocery chain will exit the company March 11.

Supervalu does not intend to hire a replacement for Ritchie Casteel, who has held the job since early 2013.

At the end of last year, he lost his CEO title when the company hired Eric Claus to take over that position.

Further details regarding Casteel’s pending departure were not given. The executive earned total compensation of $1.8 million in fiscal 2015.
