McDonald's posts 8% earnings increase

McDonald's boosted first-quarter earnings to $1.2 billion, an 8 percent increase.

The total also was above the $1.1 billion estimate by analysts.

Officials cited the expansion of its all-day breakfast menu and a Big Mac promotional campaign.
