Akzo Nobel rejects improved bid from US rival

U.S. firm PPG Industries sweetened its offer for Dutch paints and coatings maker Akzo Nobel.

However, Akzo Nobel rejected the improved $24.1 billion buyout bid.

PPG earlier proposed a $22 billion purchase.
