City of Ferguson faces discrimination lawsuits

The city of Ferguson has been sued by two former city employees and one current worker.

The three lawsuits allege discrimination at the city. All of the lawsuits were filed by Black women.

In one suit, a former police officer alleges she was demoted for reporting harassment. A second suit alleges the police department’s office manager did not receive a raise as promised, while white employees did. And a third lawsuit claims a former payroll specialist was fired without just cause related to a payroll discrepancy.
