O'Reilly Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: ORLY) and FORVIS, two companies that started in Springfield and have expanded internationally, have ranked on Forbes' 2024 list of America's Best Large Employers.
Coming in at No. 459 is O'Reilly Automotive, followed by FORVIS at No. 561, according to the list published last week by Forbes.
Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista and developed the list based on a survey of some 170,000 workers at American companies and institutions with 5,000 or more employees. Respondents were asked to rate employers and say whether they'd recommend them to others.
O'Reilly Auto's ranking is down from No. 323 last year. FORVIS was not on last year's list, and previous No. 323 Bass Pro Shops did not make the 2024 rankings.
No. 1 on this year's Forbes list is New Jersey-based Novo Nordisk, followed by Olathe, Kansas-based Garmin at No. 2 and Texas-based Cook Children's Health Care System at No. 3.
Plaza Shopping Center gained an arcade with the March 1 opening of The Flying Lap LLC; the repurposing of space operated by Burrell Behavioral Health resulted in the March 18 opening of the company’s second autism center; and a group of downtown business owners teamed up to reopen J.O.B. Public House.
