Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey's office announced charges filed against a Greene County software developer.
Mason Roller, 30, allegedly defrauded a customer in connection with Bearded Dev Ops LLC, according to a news release. The charge in the case is an alleged felony deceptive business practice.
“The attorney general's office takes exploitation of Missourians seriously,” Bailey said in the release. "We work diligently to investigate fraudulent companies and individuals, and when we find credible evidence, we take swift action.”
The probable cause statement in the case alleges Roller and Bearded Dev Ops failed to conduct work as promised on an app for a mechanic business and failed to provide a refund of $25,000 in payments made.
The alleged activity, which included a down payment and installment payments, took place between March 2021 and August 2022, according to the release.
Plaza Shopping Center gained an arcade with the March 1 opening of The Flying Lap LLC; the repurposing of space operated by Burrell Behavioral Health resulted in the March 18 opening of the company’s second autism center; and a group of downtown business owners teamed up to reopen J.O.B. Public House.
